Event Management Intern Job Description:

Bike New York seeks several interns within the Event Management Department to assist with planning and execution of the 2012 TD Five Boro Bike Tour and 2012 Bike Expo New York. Under the supervision of the Director & Assistant Director of Events, interns will assist with NYC permitting, coordinating vendor services & equipment rentals, creation of operational timetables, volunteer management & training, site management, community outreach, , staff management, etc.

Interns will have the opportunity to work on a world class athletic event. Long hours, some weekend work, and a sense of humor are required. Internship is unpaid, but may be used for college credit. Term of Employment: January 2012 through May 2012.

Bike New York is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to promote and encourage bicycling and bicycle safety through education, public events, and collaboration with community and government organizations. Best known for producing America's largest cycling event, a 42-mile, traffic-free ride for some 32,000 cyclists known as the TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour, we also put on regional rides outside NYC, offer free classes to the public, and develop customized bicycle safety and education programs in and around New York City.
