Job Vision:
The Sales Trainer ensures the maximum effectiveness of the sales force by developing, implementing and delivering training programs. This individual is responsible for designing and delivering training sessions and monitoring the effectiveness of training programs. They will also handle logistics for training. This person will work in both an instructional, classroom-type of capacity and also as a sales coach in response to business and individual needs. The Sales Trainer is a driven, energetic individual who utilizes verbal and visual presentation materials to educate the Sales team.

Organizational Structure:
The Sales Trainer reports directly to the Sales Support Manager. The Sales Trainer will work closely with the Sales Leadership team to identify key training needs across all levels of the Dept.

Performance Objectives:
1) Ensure the maximum effectiveness of the sales force by developing and implementing training programs.
a) Conduct initial needs analysis
b) Work with Sales Leadership to create new and continuing training programs specific to Inside Sales, Sales Reps and Sales Managers.
c) Create training that is consistent and engaging and effective for various types of learners.
d) Coordinate ongoing training needs for Sales Managers, Inside Sales Reps and all Outside Sales Reps.
e) Work with leaders to create content and determine appropriate training resource for delivery of content. Identify training needs that can’t be fulfilled internally and coordinate

2) Design and deliver training sessions on sales skills, company products, business practices, and other topics as needed.
*Deliver classroom and in-field training on subjects such as:
• New Training & Development
• Sales Department Structure and Best Practices
• Trust driven selling principles
• Needs based selling
• Listening, negotiating, and closing skills
• Skill building / role play
• Product knowledge
• Goal Setting
• Support Management Development with Sales Manager
• Coaching and counseling skills

3) Monitor and report on the effectiveness of training programs.
• When not conducting formal seminars, the trainer is available as a resource for sales professionals who may need help for additional coaching and training.
• Regularly conduct periodic performance needs analysis and performance gap analysis to determine sales training needs and create and implement training that addresses these needs.
• Motivate and get the best out of the sales team.
• Coach Sales Reps and Continuing Training on how to sell

4) Training logistics: Identify and coordinate all logistics around training including scheduling, AV/equipment, food, booking rooms, contracts, etc.

Within 3 months:
• Conduct initial needs analysis to determine progress of new hires and needs of tenured staff in order to understand where additional training and support is needed.
• Develop a mastery of product lines and business operations.
Within 6 months:
• The Trainer will be familiar with all products, sales presentations, management processes and training concepts; will also have broad knowledge of the sales processes, tools, and presentations and will effectively train these in both classroom and field settings.
• The Trainer must also have the ability to train at all levels including: Sales Rep, Inside Sales Rep, and Sales Manager and Territory Managers.
Within a year:
• Have new and continuing training in place that plays a direct role in QBP’s success and profitability.
• Developed expertise in adult learning theory, group behavior, motivational theories, selling techniques and communication techniques.
• Create strategy around comprehensive training cycle of Sales Representatives and Management

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years training experience.
• Background in sales with an aptitude for training others on how to be successful.
• Knowledge of the Actions Sports and/or Outdoor industries. Bike Industry knowledge preferred.
• Exceptional follow through skills and a strong initiative.
• Skilled at presenting to groups and connecting to the audience.
• Passion for teaching others how to learn.
• Exceptional presentation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
