Intern Pedal Coop (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

Job description:

Join our small team in Philadelphia and learn what it means to participate in one of the nation's few cooperatively run bicycle-hauling services! You will work closely with Pedal Coop members and will report to the Executive Director. You'll assist in a wide range of projects from developing educational materials on composting and bicycling, to outreach to new clients, to hands-on riding (hauling), and volunteering with community gardens. You will also have the opportunity to work on self-designed project(s) if you have a particular interest you wish to pursue.

Responsibilities:
• Bicycle hauling
• Develop educational materials
• Outreach to potential clients & communication with current clients
• Assist in fundraising
• Staff volunteer events

Qualifications:
You should be a skilled writer and enjoy interacting with people. We value experience developing educational materials and reports. You should be self-motivated and well-organized. You should share our commitment to positive ecological action and you must be a strong bike rider, willing to perform work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Logistics:
• This is an unpaid internship, but we can offer course credit
• Equipment (bikes and bike trailers) are shared, but we strongly suggest you have a computer
• Must be Philadelphia-based or willing to relocate to Philadelphia for the summer - West Philly is most convenient
• Start and end dates are flexible, though we expect a 1-3 month commitment
• 10-20hrs/week, flexible hours
